Collegiate’s massive 215-4 was built around a magnificent 107 not out from young opener Alex Patmore with tyro Joe Root adding 40 and Matt Simpson 41. For Friends Anwar made 51, but 4-28 from Fielding and 3-18 from Khan saw Friends restricted to 117-9. Second placed TOA made 121-8 (R.Akhtar 3-22, Fi.Mohammed 3-31), but then took regular Khan wickets, who were bowled out just 2 runs short with 3 balls of the last over remaining. Frecheville made only 72 (T.Sohail 4-20, S.Gittens 3-17), but then stifled the struggling Caribbean’s batting, who closed 4 runs shy with 8 wickets down (M.Donson 3-17). Attock made 139-4 (F.Alam 48, S.Raja 3-16). Darnall made a noble effort, but fell just short, ending at 134-6 (G.Davis 37, J.Ahmed 3-33).
In the top of the table clash at Outokumpo, Al-Mahdi made 126-7 (V.Reddy 37, T.Starkes 3-35), then excellent bowling from the visitors, particularly from Nathan Bandari, who took 7-12, saw Outokumpo shot out for just 57 (S.Naqvi 3-17). University Staff beat Norton Woodseats, chasing down the small target of 74-7 (A.Firth 43, M.Sharma 3-8) with Paul Kerry making 34 not out in an 8 wicket win.
Kashmir were toppled from the top spot of Division B as they were defeated by De La Salle. Kashmir made 108-4 (No.Khan 40). DLS easing past the target with 9 wickets in hand (S.Pratt 40*, S.Johns 34, R.Scaife 33*). Norton Oakes ran up 179-6 (J.Winnard 68, D.Sayles 56). Woodhouse were then bowled out for 110 (L.Smith 44, J.Winnard 3-27).
Division C leaders Ridgeway stay top despite suffering their first loss of the season to Transport. Ridgeway made 106-5 (M.Cranfield 55*, S.Dudley 33, G.Lewis 3-20). For Transport James Gregory’s 48 not out guided them to a 5 wicket win (M.Cox 3-18). Dronfield Sports scored just 76-7, Hallam Lodgers easing to a 8 wicket win (D.McCaig 44*). Brincliffe were bundled out for only 69, league bottom club TRS gaining a rare win by 9 wickets.
It was sad to see several games being conceded, all because of a football match earlier in the day.
